Opened with a bang: Costa Navarino in Greece expanded its golf offering with two new 18 hole golf courses, the International Olympic Academy Course and the Hills Course. We had the privilege to design both courses and guest feedback has been phenomenal since the Opening earlier this season. We are now delighted to report an important accolade: World Golf Awards named the Olympic Course "World´s Best New Golf Course 2022". Our whole team at Olazabal Design, led in this project by Jose Maria Olazabal, Matthias Nemes and Toni Ortner, is proud to be a part of the Costa Navarino story.
...And more good news from Greece: we staged our inaugural Olazabal & Friends Charity ProAm in Greece from Nov 24-26, 2022 and will return with our fundraising effort in support of children in need in 2023. Please see also www.olazabalandfriends.com

Spectacular Opening for the brand-new Jose Maria Olazabal designed Education City Golf Club. The European Tour´s Commercialbank Qatar Masters, played since 1998, moved to Education City and received great reviews from players and media. The tournament itself showcased stunning golf and was won in dramatic fashion after a 5-hole playoff by Spaniard Jorge Campillo. ECGC is Olazabal Deisgn´s first design work in the Gulf region and features the 18-hole championship course, two floodlit 9-hole and 6-hole courses as well as extraordinarily generous practice facilities. Following a public tender, Olazabal Design was selected to renew the back nine holes of the Yellow Course, originally designed by Severiano Ballesteros, at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid in Spain. Once complete, the project will allow Club de Campo to offer two top-quality 18-hole layouts just 10 minutes from the centre of Madrid. "It is a great joy for the club that a figure of the status of Jose María Olazábal will build upon Seve Ballesteros' legacy with the renewal of the Yellow Course," said Juan Carlos Vera Pro (pictured left), Director of Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, and added: "Preserving Seve’s essence will be an important part of this project, and there is no better designer in the game to meet this objective."
